Dark Matter by Blake Crouch

In this innovative thriller Dark Matter, Crouch blends mystery with the subjects of quantum paradoxes, pharmacological agents, and multiverses. The scientific elements are cutting edge and dazzling, but they won’t require background research. That being said, there is more to garner from this novel if you have some background in the hard sciences, or if you frequently read sci-fi novels.

Our protagonist Jason is a family man and casual physics professor, his life is changed forever when he finds himself shanghaied, drugged, and thrust into an unfamiliar world. Once there, agents of a shadowy militarized scientific experiment harass and pursue our protagonist all the while insisting that the life he knew was a false reality. Jason’s intelligence and strength of character offer him a tenuous thread of hope that he may be able to return to his loved ones and to the reality he believes to be his own.

Dark Matter will thrill you to no end, and feed you enough intrigue, science, and philosophy that you’ll be digesting for days after you turn the last page.
