- CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS at the Library
JUNE
Mon. 23 -Opening Program for the Independent Summer
Reading Club, 6:00 pm. Storyteller Jackson
Gillman in the "Stand-Up Chameleon's" latest
lowlife revue. The performance includes songs,
stories and movement and lasts about 45 minutes.
For children age 4 and up. No registration required.
Tues. 24 - Independent Summer Reading Club, sign-ups
begin for "Catch the Reading Bug @ Your Library,"
at 9:30 am - 7:30 pm and continue until August 5 on
Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:30 am - 7:30 pm
and Saturdays 9:30 am - 4 pm.
Thurs. 26 - Picture This, 6-7:30 pm. a book discussion
and creative art program for students entering
grades 4-6.Pre-registration required.
Sat. 28 - First day to report for Independent Summer
Reading Club.
JULY
Tues. 1 - LIBRARY SUMMER HOURS begin 9 am - 8 pm
Fri. 4 - LIBRARY CLOSED - Independence Day.
Mon. 7 - Animal Experiences with Dave Marchetti - 6 pm.
Here’s a chance to meet some bugs up close and
personal along with some of the animals who are
their predators. For children ages 4 and up. No
registration required.
Thurs. 10 - Multiage Summer Storytime, 10 am This
program includes stories, finger rhymes, songs
and films appropriate for young children. No registration
required. Children under age 3 must be
accompanied by an adult.
Picture This, 6-7:30 pm. Pre-registration required.
Thurs. 17 - Multiage Summer Storytime, 10 am
Mon. 21 - Check out Marvelous Marvin’s new show,
“Bugging Out” at 6 pm. The program is all about
bugs, insects and outdoor exploration. Using his
unique rhyming text, we’ll learn about some bug
habits that you may not believe or even want to
know. Marvin has written poems about dragonflies,
ladybugs, worms and a host of other crawly,
creepy creatures. Mixing in circus arts, magic
tricks and fun music, Marvelous Marvin has constructed
his show to look like a large book revealing
engaging illustrations inside. Treat yourself to
“Bugging Out”, an entertaining extravaganza. For
children ages 4 and up. No registration required.
Thurs. 24 - Multiage Summer Storytime, 10 am
Picture This, 6-7:30 pm. Pre-registration required.
Thurs. 31 - Multiage Summer Storytime, 10 am
AUGUST
Mon. 4 - Magician Chris Carbone, 6 pm. Watch the trainer
and caretaker of the elusive reading bug do his
tricks. Ages 4 and up. No registration required.
Thurs. 7 - LAST Multiage Summer Storytime, 10 am
Sat. 9 - LAST DAY to return forms and claim prizes for
Junior Summer Reading Club. 9:30 am - 4:00 pm.
Mon. 11 - LIBRARY CLOSED. Victory Day.
Wed. 13 - LAST DAY to report for Independent Summer
Reading Club 9:30 am - 7:30 pm
Thurs. 14 - Final Independent Summer Reading Club
party ONLY for those Independent readers who
have completed reading at least 8 books and
reporting (due to space limitations), 6 pm. Entertainer
Christopher “Kavi” Carbone in “Mosquitoes
& Bugs - Oh My!”
Fri. 15 - Junior Summer Reading Club Award Performance
for those who completed the club requirements
of 12 hours of reading and recording (due
to space limitations), 1:30 pm. Entertainment will
be provided by Sparky’s Puppets in ‘Bug Tales’.

RI and the Ruth O. Westfall Memorial Fund.

Reading Club
"Catch the Reading
Bug @ Your
Library," sign-ups
are open to all pre-readers, no age restriction. Forms will
be given for recording hours spent reading together
beginning Monday, June 16 and ending Saturday,
August 10 at 4 pm. Complete details given at registration.

- Booklook for 2's
Tuesdays and Wednesday at 10:00A.M. , Thursdays at 11:00A.M.
- For children age 2 and older. Each child must be accompanied
by an adult. Twelve children per class. Each half hour class
will include stories, songs and fingerplays appropriate for an
early introduction to a structured library experience. No
younger siblings can be accommodated.

- Storytimes for ages 3-5
Thursdays at 10:00A.M.
- Children attending this program will do so unaccompanied by
an adult. Designed as an independent experience for children,
the program includes longer stories, songs, fingerplays and a
film. No registration required.

- Multi-Age storytimes
Mondays at 10:00A.M., Wednesdays at 11:00A.M. and Thursdays at
6:30P.M.
- For children under age 6 and their caregivers. Children
under age 3 must be accompanied by an adult. The program
will include stories, finger rhymes, songs and films appropriate
for young children. This program is held Mondays at 10:00A.M.and
Wednesdays at 11:00A.M. (same program both times) No
registration required.
The Barrington Public Library is accessible to the disabled.
Individuals requiring accommodations for disabilities must notify
