Yes, there are actually several libraries called Barrington Library in the U.S.A. Some of our library users have mistakenly sent book requests to the other Barrington libraries, located in New Hampshire and the mid-West.  So, to be certain you are contacting us, please always use this address: http://www.barringtonlibrary.org/

Beginning February 12, 2008 and continuing each Tuesday through tax season, the AARP will do free tax filing for seniors and those on low or limited income at the library, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

The annual giant Friends of the Barrington Library booksale was a great success this past weekend.  The sale brought in more than $7,000! The proceeds will be used to purchase museum passes, library programs, recorded books, teen materials, and many other items that the Friends purchase for the library each year.

Our sincere appreciation goes to the members of the Friends and many library staff who put real effort into making this sale a success! 

I just finished reading this year’s Reading Across Rhode Island selected book, Water for Elephants.  It’s a wonderful book and I know we’ll have so much to talk about when we have our library book discussion group.  Sign up for the evening session begins February 28.
