Dial-A-Poem

In honor of National Poetry Month, Barrington Public Library has organized a Dial-A-Poem event running from April 1 - May 13. Call 401-237-0865 anytime to hear a poem recited by a Barrington Public Library staff or community member.

A new poem will be uploaded every Thursday morning.

This service is available 24/7 until May 13. Call as many times as you want, whenever you want!

Did you miss a week? Check out our poems from previous weeks below:

It Came From the Library....A YA Thriller Book Club

Join the club! Our first meeting of "It Came From the Library" will meet the last Monday of the month. We will discuss a thrilling novel over pizza & dessert or maybe snacks & candy. We can vote on that and more before our next meeting. Stop by the circulation desk and ask for a copy of The Taking of Jake Livingston.  Read it if you can. If not, come to the meeting anyway! I know it's a busy time. We can still chat and eat stuff. Hope to see you then! The novel is also available as an ebook and eAudiobook.

Dante700: The Performance

Join us as we culminate a month's long celebration with a special theatrical performance presented by Barrington Community Theatre. Themed mocktails & sweets will be on hand while supplies last! To be held at the Gazebo. We have lights! Recommended for Teens & Adults.

Jaws Movie Night at the Beach!

Join us for a Community Movie Night at Barrington Town Beach! We will be showing Jaws (1975, 2hr 10mins, rated PG) with pre-film commentary by Doug Swiszcz, our resident film buff. We will also have some fun shark headbands (while supplies last), a raffle for some awesome shark squirt guns, and a photo booth!

Popcorn will be provided by the Barrington Recreation Department.

Bring your own blanket or chair as well as bug spray. The movie will begin at dusk.

Recommended for teens and adults but open to all.
