Meet the Author - Inns & Adventures: A History and Explorer's Guide to Vermont, New Hampshire, and the Berkshires

Meet the author Alison O'Leary to learn about her book Inns & Adventures: A History and Explorer's Guide to Vermont, New Hampshire, and the Berkshires published by On Cape Publications in 2015.

Have you ever wandered through the woods and wondered who'd been there before? New England's woods and wild places are full of stories: cannibalism in Vermont, Thoreau's cold and lonely night on Massachusett's Mt. Greylock, an Eskimo in New Hampshire.

Inns & Adventures takes readers on a virtual trip over mountains and through the back roads of Vermont, New Hampshire, and Western Massachusetts. Come and get some great inspiration for trip planning from the author.

Find out about:

  • secluded swimming holes
  • old-growth forests
  • sites of hostage takings and cannibalism
  • adventure tourism
  • stunning vistas
  • back road and rail trail biking
  • cozy inns

Free and open to all. Books will be available for sale and signing.

Authors, Alison O'Leary is an award-winning travel writer and journalist and Michael Tougias is the author of There's a Porcupine in my Outhouse, winner of Best Nature Book of the Year, as well as several Best Day Hike titles published by the Appalachian Mountain Club.
