Friends of the Library Annual Meeting & Irish Music

Annual Meeting & Concert
Following a brief Friends of the Library annual meeting scheduled for 1:30 pm, will be an afternoon of Irish music and step dancing featuring Kevin Doyle, a member of Pendragon from 2 to 3 pm. This presentation will focus on the instrumental music of Ireland – the jigs, reels, and hornpipes – and feature the award-winning step dancing of Barrington native Kevin Doyle.

This concert is held to honor Ruth Corkill, a former library director. Refreshments will be served following the performance. Free and open to all.

About Pendragon:
Bob Drouin on fiddle, bouzouki, and tenor banjo and Russell Gusetti on guitar and concertina will be joined by uilleann piper (the Irish bagpipes) Torrin Ryan and step dancer and percussionist Kevin Doyle. Torrin Ryan recently placed 3rd overall and 2nd for slow airs in the 2017 All-Ireland Competition held in Ennis, County Clare. Doyle, of Barrington, received a National Heritage Fellowship Award from the National Endowment for the Arts in Washington, DC in 2014. The National Heritage Fellowship is the nation's highest honor in the folk and traditional arts.
