About Karen Katin of Stitchery:

Karen Katin has been sewing her entire life—starting at age 5 and never stopping. She first worked as a research scientist, earned a Masters in Education from William and Mary, taught high school Biology, and after having children, spent seven years on Etsy and the artisan fair circuit as Dancing Threads RI selling handmade bags and accessories. She opened Stitchery in Portsmouth, RI, in February 2017 as a studio space offering a wide range of needle arts classes. In addition to a full schedule of studio classes, she also teaches sewing workshops at libraries around the state.
