Passport Day

Join us for our annual Passport Day on Sunday, April 8. U.S. citizens planning international travel may apply for their passports at the library from 1:30 to 4:30 pm. Passport agents will be at the library during those hours to process applications for individuals and families, and answer any questions about the passport application process. They will also be able to take passport photos for a fee of $10.

Applicants need to bring proof of U.S. citizenship, a valid photo ID (for adults), and a personal check or money order. 

The U.S. Department of State’s website offers complete information about the passport application process at www.travel.state.gov.

1. A Completed Passport Application Form DS-11 Application forms must be completed using black ink only. Complete the form using full names (no initials or abbreviations). DO NOT sign the application until requested to do so by a Passport agent. Application Forms will be available at Passport Day.
 2. Proof of US Citizenship An original or certified copy of your birth certificate (no copies) OR an expired passport. Obtain the original or a certified copy of your birth certificate (no photocopies). If you are a naturalized citizen, you will need your original naturalization certificate.
 3. Valid ID

A current, valid photo ID (driver's license or state ID) is best.

If you do not have a driver's license or state ID, you must have at least five (5) forms of secondary identification; or you must be accompanied by a person who has known you at least two (2) years and has acceptble ID.
 4. One Professionally Developed Passport Photo   Photo service will be available at Passport Day for a cost of $10.
 5. Payment

1. One check or money order payable to the U.S. Department of State $110 for adults sixteen (16) and older and $80 for minors (15) and younger. The U.S. Department of State only accepts checks or money orders. 
AND
2. Processing payment fee of $35. Cash, check or money orders acceptable for this fee.

If paying entirely by check, you will need two (2) checks. 

 For expedited service, add $60 to the U.S. Department of State fee.
