Turning Memories into Memoirs: A Writing Workshop

Beginner through advanced writers are welcome to join the library's 6-week Turning Memories into Memoirs: A Writing Workshop.

Come to write and share your memoirs within a supportive environment.  Part of each class will focus on an aspect of writing to enhance your skills.

Class 1:  Giving and Receiving Feedback

Class 2:  Finding your Voice

Class 3:  Choosing a Topic

Class 4 & 5: Showing, not Telling 
               Senses, Feelings, Setting

Class 6: To Publish or Not

This workshop will be co-led by Ellen Walsh and Linda Carvelli.

Ellen Walsh holds an English Teaching degree from Brown University, was a former librarian at St. Andrew's School, and has taught at The Wheeler School and The Lincoln School. She lives in Providence with her husband.
 
Linda Carvelli holds a Computer degree from Bentley University and masters degree from Bryant University. She's worked in corporate America as a technology Project Manager for over 20 years. She started attending writing workshops in 2005 and what started as a series of short stories became her memoir, Perfectly Negative, self-published in 2016.  Linda is also a certified Life Coach helping clients overcome various life challenges.
