It's Time We Talk Kick-Off Event

Join community partners as we kick-off 2019 with a series of discussions and community events promoting emotional well-being as part of the It's Time We Talk series. This kick-off event features mental health superstar, Dr. Barbara Van Dahlen along with a community resource fair. Refreshments will be served.

Barbara Van Dahlen, Ph.D., named to TIME's 2012 list of the 100 most influential people in the world, is the president and founder of Give an Hour an organization of mental health professionals who provide free services to U.S. troops, veterans, their loved ones, and their communities. Give an Hour also leads the Campaign to Change Direction, a global initiative focused on changing the culture of mental health. Dr. Van Dahlen contributes to the Huffington Post and TIME, AP, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Newsweek, USA Today, CNN, NPR and many other media outlets.

Future upcoming events in this series will take place between January and June 2019 and include: Oculus virtual reality introduction; teen study time programming; community read - Dreamland: The True Tale of America's Opiate Epidemic by Sam Quinones; Healthy Living with Chronic Pain multi-part workshop; art, music, films; and a Human Library.
