Short Story Writing 6-Week Workshop

REGISTRATION IS FULL. TO JOIN A WAITING LIST EMAIL jessicad@barringtonlibrary.org

Beginner through advanced writers are welcome to join the library's 6-week Short Story Writing Workshop.

Writing a short story is both fun and challenging. This workshop will be a mix of craft-talks on fictional techniques such as character, plot, and setting (the challenging parts!) and in-class writing exercises to stimulate creativity (the fun part!). We’ll read and discuss published stories. Each week, participants will be given a writing prompt that will lead to their own complete short story. We’ll share our work in a supportive and constructive manner.

The workshop is led by Tina Egnoski, a fiction writer and poet. She’s the author of three books: This Invisible BeautyIn the Time of the Feast of Flowers and Perishables. Her work has been published in number of literary journals. She’s received two literature fellowships from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts. Her novel, Burn Down This World, will be published by Adelaide Books in February 2020.

Free and open to adults. Space is limited. Register using the form below.
Registration will open on Monday, August 26 at midnight.
