NaNoWriMo Write-In

National Novel Writing Month - NaNoWriMo - takes place during the month of November. Writers, both beginners and experienced, are encouraged to write a story, new or already started, and reach 50,000 words by the month's end. Writing a novel alone can be tough and lonely. With NaNoWriMo participants, you are part of a community of writers. Connect with seasoned writers and beginners to write your novel, get feedback, and read other writer's stories.

You need to register for NaNoWriMo. Sign up at their website anytime at nanowrimo.org. You'll need to create a username at that point. Once signed in, you're on the NaNoWriMo dashboard, where you can track your writing progress, find resources, writing buddies, pep talks, and more!

Barrington Public Library will host two in-library NaNoWriMo writing sessions. These sessions will be all-day (9 am to 5 pm) on Saturday, November 9 and Saturday, November 23 in our Collis Family Gallery. We will have snacks on hand for writers and free Wi-Fi is available. There will also be a fun raffle during each NaNoWriMo session!

We will have a librarian available to provide writing resources, stress balls, and hugs as needed (please ask first). We are happy to assist with writing questions, such as proofreading, grammar and spelling check, definitions, and more. Although we're happy to help, this is your story.

If you don't have a laptop, we have a limited number of laptops available.

Space is limited. Please register below for the Saturday, November 23 NaNoWriMo session. Make sure to check the box if you need a laptop for the session.
