The Museum of Fine Arts Boston is celebrating the opening of the Art of the Americas Wing by inviting the general public to visit on Saturday, November 20, 10am to 9:45pm. No admission fee will be charged.  The Museum is one of a number of memberships that the Barrington Library shares with Ocean State Libraries card holders.  The complete list of memberships can be seen on the Barrington Library home page,  www.barringtonlibrary.org

The Gutenberg Project has allowed the Rhode Island public libraries to share over 15,000 titles electronically through E Zone.  They can be found by clicking on the Audio Overdrive link on our homepage, looking to the far left on that page for a box which says ‘enjoy additional eBooks today!’ and clicking on that box. These public domain titles never expire and do not count against the library checkout limit of 4 per patron at any given time.

Tax season is coming! The IRS will no longer be sending printed forms to any individual or business. Your Federal Tax filing options at the Barrington Public Library will be to either file on line, or pick up one of the limited number of copies available at the Library (two per person), or copy or download forms at the Library for $ 0.15 per page.  Our printed forms are usually available after New Year’s Day. Flu Shot Clinic at Barrington Public Library Flu shots will be made available at Barrington Public Library/Peck Community Center  for people age six months and older on Tuesday, October 12 from 9 am to 12 pm. The shots include the H1N1 vaccine.
