Rediscover the joy and wonder of childhood by joining us for Adult Summer Camp! Embrace your inner child as you participate in fun activities and workshops designed to bring out your playful side. Each participant will receive a commemorative lanyard and will earn a badge for every activity completed. Don't miss this opportunity to relive the carefree days of summer and make new memories with like-minded individuals in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Adult Summer Camp is split into two sessions. Register for session one, session two, or both!  

Register for Session 1 HERE. Registration opens Monday, June 24 at 10 am.

Register for Session 2 HERE. Registration opens Monday, July 15 at 10 am.


Session 1 (July 8 – 18). By registering, you are committing to all 4 days of camp. You cannot register for individual activities only. Dates and activities are below: 

  • Monday, July 8 at 2 pm: Make a Seashell Trinket Dish - Turn a shell into a beautiful trinket dish, paper clip holder, catch-all tray, jewelry dish, or ring holder. We will use decorative napkins and Modpodge to create these one-of-a-kind dishes. All supplies will be provided. Earn the DIY badge. Location: Residential Properties Meeting Room 

  • Thursday, July 11 at 2 pm: Learn How to Play Bocce Ball and Croquet – Join us outdoors and learn how to play bocce ball and croquet. Enjoy friendly competition and learn a new game! Earn the sports badge. Location: Library Cove (rain date: Friday, July 12) 

  • Monday, July 15 at 2 pm: BYO Book Discussion – Bring a book you read recently and share your thoughts about it with the group; good, bad, or indifferent. Leave the discussion with some awesome new book recommendations. Earn the book badge. Location: Residential Properties Meeting Room 

  • Thursday, July 18 at 2 pm: Sushi Making Class – learn how to make veggie sushi rolls! Work with a partner to stuff, roll, and cut traditional sushi rolls. No raw fish or shellfish will be used. All supplies provided. Earn the cooking badge. Location: Collis Family Gallery 

Complete all four Session 1 activities and earn a Barrington Public Library Adult Summer Camp tote bag! 


Session 2 (July 29 – August 8). By registering, you are committing to all 4 days of camp. Dates and activities are below: 

  • Monday, July 29 at 2 pm: Sew a Sunglass Pouch – our resident sewing expert, Janet, will be here helping us create fun sunglasses pouches. This is an easy, beginner sewing project! All supplies provided. Earn the sewing badge. Location: Residential Properties Meeting Room 

  • Thursday, August 1 at 2 pm: Beginner Vinyasa Yoga – enjoy and hour of relaxation with Charlotte, our yoga instructor, as she guides us through a series of postures to stretch and strengthen the body with awareness of the breath, coupled with guided meditation techniques to quiet the mind. We will have a small number of yoga mats available and chairs for those unable to comfortably get up from the floor on their own. Wear comfortable clothing. Earn the yoga badge. Location: Collis Family Gallery 

  • Monday, August 5 at 2 pm: Design Your Own Decision-Maker Coin – are you ever paralyzed with making an important decision such as “Should I read one more chapter or go to sleep?” or “Should I go for a walk or watch another episode?” Then a decision-maker coin may be helpful! We will use Canva to design our coins and then use the GlowForge, our laser cutting machine, to engrave our designs onto metal coins. We will also have some pre-designed options available. Earn the maker badge. Location: Makerspace (second floor) 

  • Thursday, August 8 at 2 pm: Acrylic Painting Class – join John Irwin for a fun acrylic painting class. This is a beginner friendly class and everyone will leave with a completed painting. All supplies provided. Earn the art badge. Location: Collis Family Gallery 

Complete all four Session 2 activities and earn a Barrington Public Library Adult Summer Camp pint glass!
