We’re excited to invite local Rhode Island poets to submit their work for our Sixth Annual Dial-a-Poem program! This beloved community project celebrates the power of poetry by sharing it in a delightfully low-tech way—one phone call at a time.
We’re seeking original poems by Rhode Island poets that can be read aloud in two minutes or less. Selected poets will be invited to come to the library to record their poem with a library staff member, and their work will be featured as part of our Dial-a-Poem line for the community to enjoy.
If you have a poem that sings, surprises, comforts, or makes someone pause and listen, we’d love to hear it. Pick up the phone—your poem might be the voice on the other end.
Submission deadline: February 15, 2026
