Computer Basics

This is a 3-week class on January 12, 19, & 26 at 10 am (90 mins.) Learn how to use a computer, the internet, search engines, and email, as well as tips about internet safety. Registration is required and for all 3 weeks. Class is limited to 6 people. If you choose to bring your laptop, please notify instructor of your computer's operating system.

Computer Basics: Week One (Thursday, January 12)
Provides an introduction to mouse, keyboard, and desktop.

Cookbook Swap & Learn How to Organize Your Kitchen with Kristin MacRae of Organizing in RI, LLC

Hundreds of dollars are wasted when a kitchen is disorganized. Garbage bags of expired food get thrown away. This presentation by Kristin MacRae of Organizing in RI, LLC will give you the tips and tools you need to get your entire kitchen organized. She will take you step-by-step through the process and will also share ways to keep your recipes organized.

Following the talk we will have a Cookbook Swap. Clean out your kitchen bookshelf and bring in your unwanted cookbooks to swap for something new.

Meet the Author: An Enlightening Quiche

Meet local author Eva Pasco as she talks about her new book An Enlightening Quiche published in 2016 by Infinity Publishing.

Two headstrong women in their forties coming from different moral directions clash within the confines of a French-Canadian mill town in northern Rhode Island's Blackstone Valley. Their narratives relate how an heirloom quiche recipe and baking rivalry redress misconceptions, misdeeds, and maliciousness which wreak havoc on those caught in the crossfire of a tragedy precipitated by reckless conduct.

Successful Co-Parenting Communication: A Talk by Terry Gaspard MSW, LICSW

Co-parenting after divorce can be stressful for both parents and children. Licensed therapist and researcher, Terry Gaspard will share strategies for communication skills between you and your ex to help your child become successful living in two homes. Classics, or those of an historical nature, are "paired" the following month with a contemporary or lesser-known work related by theme, setting and/or characters. Literary Pairings generally meet the second Wednesday of the month from 7-8:30pm, except when it falls on a holiday, and meetings are facilitated by librarians Jane Granatino and Nancy Christy. This group meets September - June.

Classics, or those of an historical nature, are "paired" the following month with a contemporary or lesser-known work related by theme, setting and/or characters. Literary Pairings generally meet the second Wednesday of the month from 7-8:30pm, except when it falls on 
a holiday, and meetings are facilitated by librarians Jane Granatino and Nancy Christy. This group meets September - June.

The selection for May is The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka.
